Shattered Blue by Lauren Bird Horowitz
5 OUT OF 5 STARS.

Goodreads Description: For Noa and Callum, being together is dangerous, even deadly. From the start, sixteen-year-old Noa senses that the mysterious transfer student to her Monterey boarding school is different. Callum unnerves and intrigues her, and even as she struggles through family tragedy, she’s irresistibly drawn to him. Soon they are bound by his deepest secret: Callum is Fae, banished from another world after a loss hauntingly similar to her own. But in Noa’s world, Callum needs a special human energy, Light, to survive; his body steals it through touch—or a kiss. And Callum’s not the only Fae on the hunt. When Callum is taken, Noa must decide: Will she sacrifice everything to save him? Even if it means learning their love may not be what she thought?

I am really excited to share this book with you guys! I was given an opportunity by the publisher via NetGalley to read this book in exchange for an honest review. I was instantly drawn to this book by the description and I love reading books about Fae. Shattered Blue had a really interesting twist on the whole Fae world and I was so excited for something new! It was such an easy read and I love the way that Lauren writes. There were so many things going on and some pretty crazy twists throughout! It always had my attention and me on the edge of my seat!

I really enjoyed Noa, but there were a few times where she just seemed so impulsive and didn’t want to listen to reason. I find that a lot though in books when the love interest goes missing and the girl is trying to save them. She overall was a really great character though. I also really enjoyed Callum as well and he seemed so cool and mysterious. It’s really hard to talk about some other characters though, because they play really big parts in the book. I would hate to give anything away, because this book was so great and any spoilers at all would just ruin the entire thing.

You have to go into this not knowing a single thing, because that helps with the “OMG” shock factor! That ending was just WOW! The twist at the end was pretty insane! Lauren seriously did such an amazing job with writing this story and capturing a new take on the Fae. I loved learning about them and bits and pieces of their world. I am so glad that it’s going to be a trilogy, because I am excited to learn so much more about these Fae and I am dying to know what happens next! Huge cliffhanger ending, that’s for sure!

I highly recommend this book and I am excited to share with you guys that it is expected to be released this month; September 15th! That’s not too far away, MARK YOUR CALENDARS! I definitely recommend picking it up and I know I will be picking up a copy for myself as well!

Here is just a closer look at the book cover, because I know my picture may not be as clear since it’s on my iPad mini.
