FRIDAY FINDS showcases the books you ‘found’ and added to your To Be Read (TBR) list… whether you found them online, or in a bookstore, or in the library — wherever! (they aren’t necessarily books you purchased). Hosted by Babs at Babs Book Bistro*All linked to Goodreads*

Hey!

It’s been a crazy week for me, so I have been MIA quite a bit in the blogosphere. I’ve been trying to stay caught up with your posts though as much as possible. I’m also in this pretty big reading slump. I started three different books and I am just not in the mood to read. It’s been like that all month though. I haven’t been trying to force it, so I have been reading at a snail’s pace! I’ve kind of been feeling a little “bleh” about a lot of things. Like with my blog, bookstagram, reading, books. It’s SO SO sad. I love books, I love reading, I love my blog, I love taking bookish pictures, and I hate that I’ve been in this weird place about it all.

I honestly believe I am completely burned out from reading so much already this year, sigh. I have this overwhelming feeling when I look at my bookshelves (and Kindle) now. I actually unhauled a little over 50 books and it still seems so unmanageable. I think a break will help me and luckily I will be getting that break this weekend. I am staying the weekend in West Palm Beach with my cousin, so that should be fun! Tonight the fiance and I have engagement pictures to do, which we are not thrilled about though. We aren’t those type of people that like to get our pictures taken. I swear out of the almost 9 years we’ve been together, we have only like 5 pictures together LOL.

Anyway, I only added a couple books to my Goodreads shelves this week, so I will include the descriptions of the books as well. You can see more of my TBR lists over on my Goodreads account over here and feel free to add me as a friend!

ourchemicalheartsOur Chemical Hearts by Krystal Sutherland

This book cover is pretty AMAZING! I would totally cover buy this in a heartbeat if I was at a bookstore and I didn’t know anything about it.

Goodreads Description: Henry Page has never been in love. He fancies himself a hopeless romantic, but the slo-mo, heart palpitating, can’t-eat-can’t-sleep kind of love that he’s been hoping for just hasn’t been in the cards for him—at least not yet. Instead, he’s been happy to focus on his grades, on getting into a semi-decent college and finally becoming editor of his school newspaper. Then Grace Town walks into his first period class on the third Tuesday of senior year and he knows everything’s about to change. Grace isn’t who Henry pictured as his dream girl—she walks with a cane, wears oversized boys’ clothes, and rarely seems to shower. But when Grace and Henry are both chosen to edit the school paper, he quickly finds himself falling for her. It’s obvious there’s something broken about Grace, but it seems to make her even more beautiful to Henry, and he wants nothing more than to help her put the pieces back together again. And yet, this isn’t your average story of boy meets girl. Krystal Sutherland’s brilliant debut is equal parts wit and heartbreak, a potent reminder of the bittersweet bliss that is first love.

everyhiddenthingEvery Hidden Thing by Kenneth Oppel

When I got my Owlcrate this month there was a bookmark that had this book on it. It was said to be like Romeo & Juliet meets Indiana Jones. That alone made it sound awesome!

Goodreads Description: Somewhere in the Badlands, embedded deep in centuries-buried rock and sand, lies the skeleton of a massive dinosaur, larger than anything the late nineteenth-century world has ever seen. Some legends call it the Black Beauty, with its bones as black as ebony, but to seventeen-year-old Samuel Bolt, it’s the “rex,” the king dinosaur that could put him and his struggling, temperamental archaeologist father in the history books (and conveniently make his father forget he’s been kicked out of school), if they can just quarry it out. But Samuel and his father aren’t the only ones after the rex. For Rachel Cartland this find could be her ticket to a different life, one where her loves of science and adventure aren’t just relegated to books and sitting rooms. And if she can’t prove herself on this expedition with her professor father, the only adventures she may have to look forward to are marriage or spinsterhood. As their paths cross and the rivalry between their fathers becomes more intense, Samuel and Rachel are pushed closer together. Their flourishing romance is one that will never be allowed. And with both eyeing the same prize, it’s a romance that seems destined for failure. As their attraction deepens, danger looms on the other side of the hills, causing everyone’s secrets to come to light and forcing Samuel and Rachel to make a decision. Can they join forces to find their quarry, and with it a new life together, or will old enmities and prejudices keep them from both the rex and each other?

Have you added any new books to your TBR? Feel free to link me to your posts if you have one or leave a comment letting me know what new books you added to your TBR. 🙂
