Top Ten Debut Authors Who Have Me Looking Forward To Their Sophomore Novel.
Hi! 😀
I read some really amazing books by some awesome debut authors this year and I can’t wait to see more from them! I don’t quite have 10 authors to share that I read this year, so I will also list a couple that I haven’t read yet, but am DYING to read their first book and hoping to fall in love with them and be looking forward to their sophomore novels.
2015 debut authors I read and loved:
I am really stoked and looking forward to the sophomore novels from these authors! I know I will be auto-buying anything these authors put out. I enjoyed all of these books so much and can’t wait for more from them! Some are the first book in series, so you know I am dying to know what happens next in those. I highly recommend all of these books to everyone if you haven’t had the chance to check them out!
- Becky Albertalli – Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda – If every book is as amazing as Simon vs. is then I will be one happy camper. This book had me laughing and smiling non-stop.
- Lauren Bird Horowitz – Shattered Blue – Shattered Blue was so super amazing and OMG that twist at the end. I need MORE from Lauren as soon as possible!
- I.W. Gregorio – None of the Above – I finished None of the Above in pretty much a day, because it was just so amazing and hard to put down.
- Nicola Yoon – Everything, Everything – Everything, Everything was EVERYTHING! I stayed up so late finishing this book, because it just didn’t feel right going to sleep with it not finished. Hands down one of my favorites this year.
- Victoria Aveyard – Red Queen – HOLY WOW! I loved Red Queen so much and it continued to shock me. I went through the emotions while reading this book.
- Francesca Zappia – Made You Up – Magic eight ball says YOU NEED TO READ THIS NOW! Zappia did an amazing job with Made You Up and it’s another book that is hard to put down.
- Sabaa Tahir – An Ember in the Ashes – AHHH! I lovelovelove Sabaa Tahir’s writing style and this story. It was everything I could ever want in a book and I need more ASAP!
- Stephanie Tromly – Trouble is a Friend of Mine – Trouble is a Friend of Mine is one of the strangest and most hilarious books I have read this year. Digby definitely made this book what it was.
2015 authors I haven’t read, but really want to:
- Virginia Boecker – The Witch Hunter
- Adam Silvera – More Happy Than Not
I am really looking forward to reading these books and I have been all year. I’m actually pretty sad that I didn’t get to them at all this year, but hopefully I will soon! I am hoping I fall in love with them and the authors and hopefully be super stoked for their sophomore novels. I’ve heard nothing but good things about them! There are PLENTY more that I am DYING to read as well, so many more! They can be a list all on their own!
What are some debut authors that you have read? Have you read any of these? Let me know and link me to your TTT posts!
I still can’t believe that it’s November! Where did this year go? I’m pretty sure I went to sleep on January first and woke up and it was November. Or it could have been that I’ve had my nose in all of these books that the year flew by without my knowledge! In case you missed it, I put up my October recap post of all the books I read in October. Feel free to check that out over here.
I hope you have an awesome Tuesday!
I still cannot believe that ‘Everything, Everything’ is her debut novel. How crazy! It’s easily one of the best things I read this year and also in my favourite pile.
I know! It was crazy good and I can’t believe it was her debut novel! I can’t wait to see what she comes up with next!
Such a great list! I need to read None of the Above, it seems so good! And Everything, Everything, has been on my TBR forever, I need to get it as soon as I can 🙂
Thanks! 🙂 None of the Above is SO good! I hope you can get to that soon and Everything, Everything!
I want to read Red Queen eventually. Great list! Mine is here
Thanks! Hopefully you can read Red Queen soon! 🙂

I have mixed feelings on to read Red Queen or not to read Red Queen. Guess I have to read it to find out.
You’ll either love it or hate it. I know I haven’t really seen an in between with it. But I really loved it! 🙂
Hi! Almost all of those are on my TBR list 🙂
My TTT
Leslie
Made You Up was almost on my list. There were just too many great debuts this year. I do have four other people from your list on mine though. Great minds think alike!
We share two, but all the rest are still on my tbr! 🙂
Check out my TTT and the weekly meme I hosting on my blog Music Monday.
We share a few this week! Some of yours are on my TBR as well. Great choices 🙂
My TTT
🙂 thanks! I’ve seen a lot of these on so many lists today!
I loved Red Queen as well and yay to not being the only one who hasn’t read More Happy Than Not yet. I really want to read it too!
Hopefully we both can get to reading More Happy Than Not soon! 🙂
Hears to that!
The Red Queen is everywhere this week! 🙂 It’s on my list, too. I also really want to read More Happy Than Not.
I seen lots of the ones on my list on so many lists today! 🙂
I have read all of two books that you mentioned. xD I wasn’t the biggest fan of Red Queen, but I THINK I’m still interested in the sequel. An Ember in the Ashes was SO good! I can’t wait to get my hands on the sequel.
Also, I really need to get my hands on Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda as well as Everything, Everything. Nothing but rave reviews everywhere.
Great post, Ashley! x
I’ve noticed that people have either loved Red Queen so much or hated it. I’m really curious as to what happens next in the series. An Ember in the Ashes is definitely one I really can’t wait for the sequel!
Hopefully you can read Everything, Everything and Simon vs. soon! 🙂
Great list. You have a few books on here that I have read and enjoyed myself. I think I am also going to have to add a few of these to my Christmas wishlist, it looks like I have missed out on some great debuts recently. I am especially excited to read Simon VS the Homo Sapiens Agenda, I have heard so many good things about that one. Here’s my TTT.
Nicola Yoon made it onto my list, too–I LOVED Everything, Everything! 😀 Great choices on the rest of these, as well (I haven’t read any of them, but intend to at some point pick up at least a few!)
My list is here: https://betwixtthesepages.wordpress.com/2015/11/03/top-ten-tuesday-5/
Thank you! 🙂 hopefully you can read some of these soon!
Yes, hopefully!
Oh I need to read An Ember in the Ashes and None of the Above so I finally know why everyone loves them so much!! I feel left out 😦 haha!
Ever since your review of Shattered Blue I have been so interested in checking it out! I need to get my hands on a copy! Great list!!!
They are such great books! Hopefully you can read them soon! I’m not sure how often you read e-books, but I know the Shattered Blue e-book is pretty cheap!
I loved Red Queen, too! I just checked out Snow Like Ashes. I’m looking forward to starting this series. Great list!!
I’m really looking forward to reading Snow Like Ashes too! 🙂
Oh yay! We do have a lot of the same books on our lists! I also have quite of few of these in my physical TBR pile too. I’ve been meaning to finally read Made You Up for almost 6 months now but it’s at the very bottom of my pile and I can’t be bothered to get it out hahaha. That’s actually the laziest reason ever.
I’ve seen lots of books on my list on so many lists today. I think everyone has read or want to read these, which is always cool. More people to fangirl with! Made You Up was so good! Maybe you can accidentally knock over your TBR pile and it won’t be on the bottom anymore! 😛
Oh my goodness, I want to read Shattered Blue and More Happy Than Not so bad! I also had Made You Up and Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda on my list too. 🙂
You definitely have to read Shattered Blue! The e-book is pretty cheap! I think it’s still $3.99! 🙂
Yay! If it really is that good, though, I might just have to buy a physical copy for my collection. Not too kind on my wallet, but it’s totally worth it!
The physical copy is on sale today on Amazon for $6!
I want to read Red Queen, I’ve had it for ages and just haven’t got around to it yet!
