FRIDAY FINDS showcases the books you ‘found’ and added to your To Be Read (TBR) list… whether you found them online, or in a bookstore, or in the library — wherever! (they aren’t necessarily books you purchased).

Hi!

I honestly can’t believe that it’s Friday already. This week flew by for me, which is nice, because HELLO WEEKEND! I plan to read some books, finish Orange Is the New Black, and probably catch up on a ton of other shows I haven’t been watching. SORRY, DVR! I’ve spent most of this week reading instead of watching TV/Netflix. It’s been nice, but now I am even more behind in TV shows than before. AND….Orphan Black just came back!! I also hope to finally start on my vacation picture post this weekend for you guys.

Anyway, you’re probably here for the books, so let’s get to it. 😛 I have three books to share with you guys that all sound like they are going to be pretty awesome reads! I’ve included the book descriptions below as well. You can see more of my TBR over on my Goodreads account over here and feel free to add me as a friend!

A Semi-Definitive List of Worst Nightmares by Krystal Sutherland

Goodreads Description: Ever since Esther Solar’s grandfather was cursed by Death, everyone in her family has been doomed to suffer one great fear in their lifetime. Esther’s father is agoraphobic and hasn’t left the basement in six years, her twin brother can t be in the dark without a light on, and her mother is terrified of bad luck. The Solars are consumed by their fears and, according to the legend of the curse, destined to die from them. Esther doesn’t know what her great fear is yet (nor does she want to), a feat achieved by avoiding pretty much everything. Elevators, small spaces, and crowds are all off-limits. So are haircuts, spiders, dolls, mirrors and three dozen other phobias she keeps a record of in her semi-definitive list of worst nightmares. Then Esther is pickpocketed by Jonah Smallwood, an old elementary school classmate. Along with her phone, money and a fruit roll-up she d been saving, Jonah also steals her list of fears. Despite the theft, Esther and Jonah become friends, and he sets a challenge for them: in an effort to break the curse that has crippled her family, they will meet every Sunday of senior year to work their way through the list, facing one terrifying fear at a time, including one that Esther hadn’t counted on: love.

sadgirls

Sad Girls by Lang Leav

Goodreads Description: Sad Girls is the much anticipated debut novel from international best-selling author Lang Leav. A beautifully written and emotionally charged coming of age story, where young love, dark secrets, and tragedy collide. School is almost out for Audrey, but the panic attacks are just beginning. Because Audrey told a lie and now her classmate, Ana, is dead. Just as her world begins to spin out of control, Audrey meets the enigmatic Rad—the boy who could turn it all around. But will their ill-timed romance drive her closer to the edge?

Here Lies Daniel Tate by Cristin Terrill

Goodreads Description: A young, street-savvy runaway looking for a place to call home realizes he might have conned his way into the wrong family in this fast-paced and thrilling novel from award-winning author Cristin Terrill. When ten-year-old Daniel Tate went missing from one of California’s most elite communities, he left no trace. He simply vanished. Six years later, when he resurfaces on a snowy street in Vancouver, he’s no longer the same boy. His sandy hair is darker, the freckles are gone, and he’s initially too traumatized to speak, but he’s alive. His overjoyed family brings him home to a world of luxury and comfort he can barely remember. In time, they assure him, he’ll recover his memories; all that matters now is they’re together again. It’s perfect. A miracle. Except for one thing. He isn’t Daniel Tate. He’s a petty con artist who accidentally stumbled into the scam of a lifetime, and he soon learns he’s not the only one in the Tate household with something to hide. The family has as many secrets as they have millions in the bank, and one of them might be ready to kill to keep the worst one buried.
