Friday Finds #64.

FRIDAY FINDS showcases the books you ‘found’ and added to your To Be Read (TBR) list… whether you found them online, or in a bookstore, or in the library — wherever! (they aren’t necessarily books you purchased).

Hi!

I am so glad that it’s Friday! I am in desperate need of a nap when I get home from work today. I feel so tired today. Zzz…

Today I have four books to share with you guys that all sound like they are going to be pretty amazing reads! Included down below is the Goodreads description as well as my thoughts/first impressions of the books. You can see more of my TBR over on my Goodreads account over here and feel free to add me as a friend!

Peter Darling by Austin Chant

I love Peter Pan so much and I haven’t read a ton of retellings of Peter Pan. I think the only one I read was Everland (which is a steampunk retelling that I loved), so I am excited to read Peter Darling. Peter Darling sounds like it’s going to be completely different and it sounds so good! It was released back in February, so I really want to get my hands on a copy of it soon.

Goodreads Description: Ten years ago, Peter Pan left Neverland to grow up, leaving behind his adolescent dreams of boyhood and resigning himself to life as Wendy Darling. Growing up, however, has only made him realize how inescapable his identity as a man is. But when he returns to Neverland, everything has changed: the Lost Boys have become men, and the war games they once played are now real and deadly. Even more shocking is the attraction Peter never knew he could feel for his old rival, Captain Hook—and the realization that he no longer knows which of them is the real villain.

Before I Let Go by Marieke Nijkamp

I read Marieke’s other book This Is Where It Ends and I really liked that book a lot. I am looking forward to reading her new book. Before I Let Go sounds like it’s going to be a really heartbreaking read like her other book was. I love the book cover as well! Releasing in January 2018. I am hoping I am approved for this one on Netgalley.

Goodreads Description: Days before Corey is to return home to the snow and ice of Lost Creek, Alaska, to visit her best friend, Kyra dies. Corey is devastated―and confused. The entire Lost community speaks in hushed tones about the town’s lost daughter, saying her death was meant to be. And they push Corey away like she’s a stranger. Corey knows something is wrong. Lost is keeping secrets―chilling secrets. But piecing together the truth about what happened to her best friend may prove as difficult as lighting the sky in an Alaskan winter…

alexapproximately

Alex, Approximately by Jenn Bennett

I am all about this summer book cover vibe with this one. Alex, Approximately sounds like it’s going to be a really fun read. I am actually debating on if I want to go buy a copy of this book right now or if I should wait. It was released in April, so it’s out in the world and I kind of really want it right now, lol. I think I may hold off until next week to decide though. Maybe the e-book will go on sale before then.

Goodreads Description: Classic movie fan Bailey “Mink” Rydell has spent months crushing on a witty film geek she only knows online as Alex. Two coasts separate the teens until Bailey moves in with her dad, who lives in the same California surfing town as her online crush. Faced with doubts (what if he’s a creep in real life—or worse?), Bailey doesn’t tell Alex she’s moved to his hometown. Or that she’s landed a job at the local tourist-trap museum. Or that she’s being heckled daily by the irritatingly hot museum security guard, Porter Roth—a.k.a. her new archnemesis. But life is whole lot messier than the movies, especially when Bailey discovers that tricky fine line between hate, love, and whatever it is she’s starting to feel for Porter. And as the summer months go by, Bailey must choose whether to cling to a dreamy online fantasy in Alex or take a risk on an imperfect reality with Porter. The choice is both simpler and more complicated than she realizes, because Porter Roth is hiding a secret of his own: Porter is Alex…Approximately.

forgetmenot

Forget Me Not by Ellie Terry

Last but not least, I added Forget Me Not to my Goodreads TBR and I really want to add it to my bookshelf too, because that book cover is AMAZING! The hardcover is a little over $9 on Amazon right now and it’s so tempting! It also sounds like it’s going to be really good. I never read a book about someone that has Tourette syndrome and I think it’ll be interesting to learn about something that I am not all that familiar with.

Goodreads Description: A girl with Tourette syndrome starts a new school and tries to hide her quirks in this debut middle-grade novel in verse. Calliope June has Tourette syndrome. Sometimes she can’t control the noises that come out of her mouth, or even her body language. When she and her mother move yet again, she tries to hide her TS. But soon the kids in her class realize she’s different. Only her neighbor, who is also the class president, sees her as she truly is—a quirky kid, and a good friend. But is he brave enough to take their friendship public? As Callie navigates school, she must also face her mother’s new relationship and the fact that she might be moving again—just as she’s starting to make friends and finally accept her differences. This story of being true to yourself will speak to a wide audience.

Have you added any new books to your TBR? Feel free to link me to your posts if you have one or leave a comment letting me know what new books you added to your TBR. 🙂
