Book Haul||January.

IMG_8796

Hi 🙂

This will be the last month that I go extremely crazy with book buying. It’s really taking a toll on my bank account and honestly, it’s stressing me out so much. I have so many books to read and I feel like it’s never going to end and I’ll never get it under control if I don’t stop buying books! So I may get the occasional book here and there, but no more craziness like you are about to see. And with that, here is my January book haul.

Amazon:

November 9 by Colleen Hoover
Blonde Eskimo
by Kristen Hunt
This Is Where It Ends
by Marieke Nijkamp
Passenger by Alexndra Bracken

I also won an awesome giveaway for This Is Where It Ends and I won that red Polaroid camera and a red lanyard from Sourcebooks. 😀 The little picture of my cat ColbyJack was printed with the Polaroid camera.

Target:

I’ll Give You the Sun by Jandy Nelson
Cruel Crown
by Victoria Aveyard
Fantastic Beasts & Where to Find Them
by Newt Scamander
The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up by Marie Kondo

I’ve been dying to get my hands on all of these books, so I had to pick them up when I seen them at Target.

Other/OwlCrate:

Girl in the Blue Coat by Monica Hesse (The Novl)
Worlds of Ink and Shadow by Lena Coakley (OwlCrate)

I was sent an ARC of Girl in the Blue Coat from The Novl and I am really excited to read this one. I should be reading it within the next month or so and getting a review up.

I was a little disappointed with the OwlCrate this month and even more so because I didn’t get everything that was supposed to be in the box.

Included was:
Snape Funko
Raven Boys bookmark
Patronus chapstick
Worlds of Ink and Shadow by Lena Coakley *pictured above*
A Knot in the Grain by Robin McKinley ebook
aknotinthegraine

I was supposed to get a Throne of Glass print, but they forgot to include that in my box. Kind of a disappointment since everyone got one in their boxes and I feel like if I paid a lot of money for a box, I should have everything. The box this month wasn’t as great as past boxes, that’s for sure. I just wasn’t thrilled about any of the things included. I do love the Snape Funko, but that’s about it.

Book Outlet:

Okay, so I went a little bit crazy on Book Outlet and I slightly regret it right now. Most of these were from Boxing Day sale and then I think another sale they had. Most of these books are books I never even heard of, but got them because I felt like I had to buy something during these sales and they sounded interesting. I will NOT be doing that anymore. GOODBYE BOOK OUTLET…unless it’s a book I actually know for sure that I want. Hopefully they’ll be decent reads and I won’t feel so bad about getting them. The first five (first picture) are ones that I did really want then the rest are just random ones.

E-Books:

I actually didn’t go crazy with buying e-books like I usually do, so at least that is one good thing to come out of this crazy book haul. I’ve been trying to stay away from Amazon and e-book deals as much as possible. I already have over 200 e-books that I need to read.

Darkly Dreaming Dexter by Jeff Lindsay
The Whispers of the Fallen by J.D. Netto
Uninvited by Sophie Jordan
Undertow by Michael Buckley
Need by Joelle Charbonneau

That was my crazy January book haul! I have no idea how it ended up being like this, but I do not plan on ever doing this again, lol…hopefully! I have to save save save money, because I am going to California in March! 😀 I also really need to work more on reading the books that I own rather than continuing to let my book count get even more ridiculous, lol.

I hope you had an awesome weekend! 😀

  1. I’m bummed for you that you didn’t receive the Throne of Glass print! Did you e-mail Owlcrate? This month was my first Owlcrate month and I was happy with mine, but I guess I don’t have anything to compare it to!
Of your book purchases, I have read Darkly Dreaming Dexter (It was alright. I think I’d have liked it better if I hadn’t watched the show first) and Why We Broke Up (which annoyed me, but to each their own! I know others who adored this book). I’m jealous of your red Polaroid! It’s cute 🙂

    • It sucked not receiving everything, but I emailed them and they said they would send it. So that’s good! I’m glad you were happy with your OwlCrate this month! I’ve never seen the Dexter show (I probably watched one or two episodes a long time ago, but don’t remember them), but I was recommend the book since I loved I Hunt Killers so much. Why We Broke Up sounded interesting, so we’ll see how I like it! 🙂

    • I am so glad I finally got my hands on a copy of I’ll Give You the Sun! I always see it at the stores and then pass it up. I decided to finally just grab a copy. They All Fall Down sounds so interesting and I can’t wait to read it! 🙂

    • I seen an email from Book Outlet (they are good about sending a bunch of emails to make me want to go over and check haha) and Reawakened was in it, so I rushed over and got it. I’ve been really wanting to read it, so I was excited to see they had it. I haven’t been back on BO since then LOL! I honestly need to stay away from there for awhile HAHA.

  2. Some bodies gone a tad cray cray! Haha!!
Amazing Haul! Your shelves must actually be overflowing (I’m jealous!) I’m excited for you to read Reawakened!! And that’s a pretty awesome camera!

    • Yeah, I definitely went crazy! 😛
I got a new bookcase for Christmas and it’s already full lol! NOT GOOD! I’m drowning in books, haha. I am so glad I was finally able to get my hands on Reawakened. I can’t wait to read it! That camera is so awesome and I can’t wait to take it on my trip in March! 🙂

  3. Great haul! We need to keep each other on track for no book buying so we have fun money for Monterey!! I am dreading putting my book haul post together because there are a ridiculous amount of books lol.

    • THANKSSS! Yes, we need to keep each other on track for no book buying! We need ALL THE MONEY for Monterey! Bird said there were a couple bookstores there too, so you know…we can get some books there. 😛 Especially since we are saving money for Monterey and the bookstores are IN Monterey! 😛

  4. Oh man… you really need to get off Book Outlet and some yourself some money! Also, you need to stop listening to Joey because he’s a terrible influence! Hopefully your semi-book buying ban goes well! Also, what a bummer about that Throne of Glass print! You should definitely email them and get them to send it to you!

    • Yes, I need to get off Book Outlet and YES I need to stop listening to Joey! There are only a few books that I am dying to get this year, so I will try to stick to just those for now instead of getting a bunch of random ones just because, haha. I emailed OwlCrate and they said they would send me the print, so that’s good! 🙂

      • That’s good to hear about OwlCrate! I’ve seen quite a few people online say that they’ve had missing items in their boxes… I was thinking of maybe getting a box to try but with international shipping and exchange rates… it comes to about $80 AUD for me… definitely not worth it. I wish Uppercase shipped internationally because they have the best boxes I’ve seen around.

      • Yeah, even for us it’s kind of pricey. Mine is $40 a month. I’m thinking of cancelling after February box and trying out Uppercase. I also just really need to save money and honestly, when I really think about it I haven’t even used any of the things I got in any of my OwlCrate boxes. So I spent so much money on them and haven’t been using the stuff I got.

      • I am cancelling after this month. I like the sci-fi theme and they said there will be a Doctor Who themed item, so I want that lol. But most likely cancelling after this month. It was fun for awhile, but now it’s costly haha.

  6. My goodness Ashley, this was indeed a crazy huge book haul! I’m the total opposite, I’ve been broke and unable to buy books *sobs*
Great post! Loved seeing al your new books. 😊

  7. I’ve had Marie Kondo’s book on my list for awhile now and actually kind of forgot about it until I saw it rose on the bestseller list in the last couple weeks! Great book haul, happy reading! 🙂
