Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.

Ten Books That Celebrate Diversity/Diverse Characters (example: features minority/religious minority, socioeconomic diversity, disabled MC, neurotypical character, LGBTQ etc etc.)

Hi πŸ™‚

I really love this topic so much, because I truly believe that we need more diverse books! I’ve read some and then there are TONS that I still want and need to read! I decided to split the post up into 5 books I’ve read and 5 that I want to read. Let’s get started!

Five Books I’ve Read:

Made You Up by Francesca Zappia
None of the Above by I.W. Greggorio
Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli
Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Bengamin Alire Saenz
Switching Time by Richard Baer

These all were such amazing books and definitely top of my list of favorite books! I highly recommend all of these books if you haven’t read them yet!

FiveΒ Books I Want To Read:

George by Alex Gino
I’ll Give You the Sun by Jandy Nelson
More Than This by Patrick Ness
More Happy Than Not by Adam Silvera
Anything Could Happen by Will Walton

A few of these I already own, so I want to read them soon! I already started More Than This and plan to pick it up again soon! πŸ™‚ I made the mistake of also starting another book while reading that one and it’s currently getting the majority of my attention, oops!

What are some diverse books you have read or want to read? Let me know in the comments and link me to your TTT posts!

I’ll hopefully have my July book haul post up tomorrow. For now, I have to finish getting ready for work. I hope you all have an awesome day! Bye! ❀

  1. I legit already have all these books on my TBR I want to get to them so badly! George looks incredible! I’ve heard nothing but good things about I’ll Give You the Sun, Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe and None of the Above. I’ve actually seen Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda on like everyones list today! I honestly feel like I’m missing out on something huge not having read it! Great list! πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

    • I hope you’re able to get to reading them all soon! They are so amazing and I am excited about the last five that I haven’t read yet! George definitely looks incredible. You should for sure read Simon vs. It’s such a great book. I read it in a day and a half. I could not put it down and same for None of the Above!

  2. I had no idea that most of these books were diverse… I know they’re all popular but I’ve never read any of them 😦 I really, really want to read Simon and The Homo Sapiens – it’s been on almost everyone’s list! Thanks for the heads up about all these diverse books πŸ˜€

  3. ALL THE LOVE FOR SIMON VS AND ARISTOTLE AND DANTE!!! ❀ I also think NONA is thoughtful and sensitive of its representation. And Anything Could Happen, I’ll Give You the Sun and Made You Up are at the top tiers of my TBR list. Also? You need (not that you have to feel pressured) to get back to MHTN soon! And More Than This is such a what-the-f*ck-is-this read. But, like, in the brilliant way.

  7. All of your read books are on my TBR list but seeing them on someones read list really makes me want to get to them very soon.
Also your to-be-read list sounds fantastic and i can only say that you should read “I’ll give you the sun” soon because it is fantastic. I found it a bit hard to get into at first but after a while and getting used to the writing style i really enjoyed that one.
    Fantastic list πŸ™‚
