FRIDAY FINDS showcases the books you ‘found’ and added to your To Be Read (TBR) list… whether you found them online, or in a bookstore, or in the library — wherever! (they aren’t necessarily books you purchased). Hosted by MizB at Should Be Reading.
With my never-ending struggle not to add books to my growing TBR list, I ended up adding A LOT of new books this week. I add more than I actually have time to read. Ugh! There are just too many books and not enough time to read them all. It was hard choosing which ones to post, because I am excited about all of the books I found. Here are some of them though.
Unspoken by Sarah Rees Brennan
Influx by Daniel Suarz
Playing Dead by Julia Heaberlin
The Inventor’s Secret by Andrea Cremer
Pulse by Patrick Carman
Eden by Keary Taylor
Please Ignore Vera Dietz by A.S. King

Dorothy Must Die by Danielle Paige
The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken
These two aren’t part of my finds because I’ve been wanting to read them for awhile (since 2013 for The Darkest Minds!) now. But, because the books I have that I haven’t read yet are never enough, I ended up buying these two books at Target this week. The fact that I said I was proud of myself in January that I only spent $1.99 on books this year so far was a complete fail. Sigh. I keep buying and I know I shouldn’t. I’m horrible, but what else am I going to spend my money on? I have no kids and I don’t go out anywhere. Justifying again. Blehhhh. But enough of that!
I’m doing that thing again where I start a book and don’t want to finish it, because I want to read something else. I’ve been reading Yes Please for what seems like forever. I really like the book, but I’m not really in the mood for it I guess. I want to read something else, but I’m refusing myself (besides whatever audiobooks I listen to at work). I’m determined to get it read this weekend though. I’m halfway done. I don’t want to continue to add books to my “started, but haven’t finished” pile. I shouldn’t even have one of those piles to begin with. I never used to be like this. Sigh.
I’ve gotten some books read (well listened to – I fly through audiobooks at work) over the last couple of weeks. I’ll do my thoughts on some of them soon. I’m excited that I’m getting a new computer sometime next week, so I’ll actually be able to do proper posts and it’ll make it easier. I’m stuck using my iPhone/iPad or if I am able to borrow my mom’s laptop. That’s not fun! I went to Shark Valley last weekend and I really want to post my pictures from there and I may do that sometime over this weekend.
And just because these two are so damn cute. I leave you with ColbyJack (kitten) and Dax (dog). I still find it amazing how much they love each other. ColbyJack grew up with Dax since he was 4-5 weeks old, so Dax is really all he knows and Dax is the only animal that he likes. Best bros for life. ❤
What are some of the books you found this week?
Unspoken is on my TBR list as well!
I’m excited about reading it. It sounds like it’ll be good. 🙂
Nice adds! I discuss “Please Ignore Vera Dietz” in my YA Contemporary Round-Up post, if you’re interested – check it out at https://bookishtendencieskatie.wordpress.com/2015/02/09/book-review-ya-contemporary-round-up-part-2/
Thanks 🙂
I’ll check it out!
I’ve heard great things about Dorothy Must Die – you have a great selection of finds. Here are my FFs https://cleopatralovesbooks.wordpress.com/2015/02/20/friday-finds-february-20/
Thank you. I’m excited about starting it. I’m thinking of starting it next. Thanks for linking me to your post!
Like the book picks for the week and the cute pictures of your animals. I also love audiobooks and listened around 50 of them last year.
Anyway, here are my Friday Finds for the week: http://captivatedreader.blogspot.com/2015/02/friday-finds-71.html
Thank you 🙂 I wasn’t a big fan of audiobooks, but now I am obsessed. I only listen to them at work, but it’s nice having books to get me through the day. Thank you for linking me to your post!
So many great titles and beautiful covers on your list! I couldn’t help myself and added a few of them to my wishlist… 😉 Your pets are adorable by the way.
I agree about the covers. I’m glad that you added some to your list! 🙂 and thanks!
Dorothy Must Die is amazing. Just saying.
🙂 I’m excited about reading it. I’m planning to read it next.
